It’s that time of year again. The mercury has hit the 70-degree mark, which means that herds of Phoenicians will be venturing north to visit Prescott.

People looking for a new vacation spot might try one of 12 so-called unusual places reachable without a passport, such as Prescott.
The description comes from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Each year since 2000 it has named a “Dozen Distinctive Destinations” appealing to tourists’ taste for historic places.
