S Factor holds its first ever workshop in Scottsdale, Arizona during October 2006.
Scottsdale, Arizona (September 2006) – Sheila Kelley’s S Factor is holding its first ever workshop in Scottsdale, Arizona, during the weekend of October 20-22, at Bei Bella, 5115 North Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85250. With seven locations across the United States boasting constantly sold-out sessions and an incredible demand for more studios, Scottsdale is a natural location to host this groundbreaking health and fitness trend. “We are absolutely thrilled to share this unique, transformational movement and workout to the women of Arizona,” said S Factor founder Sheila Kelley.
Based on yoga, Pilates, ballet and pole dancing, Sheila Kelley’s S Factor is a comprehensive workout that integrates strength and flexibility training with graceful, sensual movement. The S Factor was designed by actress Sheila Kelley to achieve specific health benefits, including physical fitness and stress reduction, as well as to cultivate sensuality, self-confidence and a positive body image. Students experience a unique transformation and catharsis that is unrivalled by the results of any other workout.
Sheila Kelley’s S Factor Scottsdale Workshop is designed for women of all ages, sizes and levels of fitness, and is a superb introduction to this innovative movement. There is a wide variety of classes available during the weekend where students will learn the fundamental S Factor workout, beginning pole tricks, and dancing in stilettos, with more to come in Workshop II taking place the following month. Cost for the workshop is $180.
Sheila Kelley’s S Factor has appeared numerous times on the Oprah Winfrey Show, as well as 20/20, MSNBC, 48 Hours, The View, Prime Time Live, The O’Reilly Factor, Dancing With the Stars, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood and Late Night With Conan O’Brien, among many others. Sheila trains celebrities including Teri Hatcher, Allison Janney, Lisa Rinna and others in this challenging movement. “It’s about empowerment.” says actress Teri Hatcher. “It’s about finding this place of comfort and confidence in your own body.”
The S Factor is becoming the new women’s movement, sparking interest from diverse women across the country, as well as around the globe. Students feel empowered by the workout and enjoy wide-ranging physical, emotional and mental benefits. “The S Factor is about women rediscovering their own shapes and their muscles, overtly, playfully and unabashedly,” says founder Sheila Kelley. “We’re teaching women a body language they’ve been told not to explore.” The S Factor allows the female body to move in a non-linear direction by stretching the hips and chests while the mind focuses on the sensuality of the movement, instilling a feeling of freedom and empowerment.
After years of acting in film, television and theater, Sheila co-wrote, produced and starred in the film Dancing at the Blue Iguana. It was during the research and preparation for her role as a stripper in this film that Sheila discovered the fitness benefits of pole dancing, as well as a newfound take on her sensual power. Her acting career includes an extensive body of work in television, film and theater. She has appeared on television’s L.A. Law, The Sopranos, Sisters and ER, as well as in a wide array of films, including Singles, Pure Luck, Matchstick Men, Nurse Betty, One Fine Day, Mozart and the Whale, The Secretary and Rules of Obsession, among others.

Marilyn – thanks for your comment.
The S Factor website doesn’t have any upcoming workshops posted for the Phoenix area. As an alternative, their website does make a DVD workout series available, so you can start working out in your home until the workshop makes its way back to Phoenix.
