Came across your blog and just wanted to comment - huge congrats on your accomplishment! This is no easy outing and very hard to train for. Beautiful, but brutal!

I'm about to head into my 4th "rim to rim to rim" (yes, over and back) in the past 5 years this weekend (in prob 16-18 hours total) and I wonder why the heck I'm doing it again! I think because of the pain that I know is coming I'm doing my usual freak-out!!

Best of luck in your adventures.

Interesting thought, Frederick. I doubt that will happen just because there are a lot of preservation efforts taking place every day. The least amount of man made development the better it is for the Grand Canyon and its fragile ecosystem. The Grand Canyon is a very well protected environment, and the only area that the government does not have control of are the parts owned by the Native Americans. The new Grand Canyon Skywalk resides on their land, but there are no intentions of building anything as invasive as a tram on the National Park Preserve.

Do you think the day may come when a tram will be installed to take passengers through the canyon at
maybe thirty-feet above ground level?
